PHARMACEUTICAL RESEARCH
COMPANY The Situation
Wilder Presentations identified two issues. First, the pharmaceutical company had to develop a way to sift through and organize its materials to make them presentable. Second, it had to train its researchers to deliver information in a cogent and persuasive manner. Wilder designed a two-day seminar on developing,
designing, and delivering logical, focused, and comprehensible presentations.
We created an Experimental Results Format for researchers to use
in organizing their data and sharing the results of their experiments.
Researchers also learned to do more than just read off the numbers on
their visuals-they began to interpret and successfully communicate the
meaning of complicated charts. They helped their audience understand the
significance of the results by using phrases like: "This information
points out
" and "What these experiment results mean for
future research is
." Most importantly, presenters learned to
clearly convey the significance of their work and explain how certain
results could translate into actual pharmaceutical products for people
around the world. We also helped edit the scientific conference
slides to make them more interesting and to-the-point. The presenters,
who were also the slide designers, received some key guidelines to follow
when creating their PowerPoint laptop presentations.
